Ok students here is what you need to do: Research Mr. Kenneth Wyatt and then post about what you have read and seen from his paintings. Next you are to comment on at least two of your classmates post in a positive way. Agree or disagree but you will be courteous to each other. You will need to add a question that you would like to ask Mr. Wyatt when we meet him. This will need to be done by Monday after Thanksgiving. Have fun with it.

The Future
I have started this blog to get my students interested in connecting with each other in a different way. I want them to learn to express their ideas and comment on others ideas in a positive and interesting way. The first blog they will be doing is from my Art III class and their field trip to meet Mr. Kenneth Wyatt. He is a nationally known oil painter who lives in a small farming community about an hour for where our school is.

ReplyDeleteKenneth Wyatt, is a well known Western and Christian artist who has been painting for more than 30 years. He has painted over 8,000 paintings. According to the cowboys who know their trade, he is possibly the best painter of the horse in Western art. Kenneth Wyatt paintings are in oil, watercolor, pencil, pastel and charcoal. We have a large selection of framed prints, giclees and even several originals on display in the Gallery.
ReplyDeleteSo there is what I learned...I don't like his work particularly, but I think that if you can't take good work at face value then there is no ability to really understand art history.
He is good at what he does-fact.
He has religous themes-fact.
Religion and skill are what art has been based on for hundreds of years, if that can't be respected than I dare say art can't be respected.
Kenneth's paintings are for the joy of everyone. They are in offices, homes, and museum, and among collections of farmers, queens, bankers, movie stars, clergy and almost ever other occupation known. His religious paintings hang in churches of all denominations and in more than ninety countries. Not only does this multiple range of owners make his work widely accepted, but, also, it is his ability to paint a diversity of subjects: landscapes, children, flowers, westerns, portraits and animals. These and more cross his pallet and come alive on the canvas. His mood swings alter his style as well, and one day he may be content to paint apples in a still-life motif, and the very next day he may paint a herd of stampeding horses in a thunderstorm.
ReplyDeleteMy question will be, (not to be taken the wrong way), how do your paintings get popular enough to be displayed and sold in a gallery?
ReplyDeleteMy question is, do you think you're bad at painting or what?
ReplyDeleteyea
ReplyDelete:)

ReplyDeleteKenneth Wyatt's art works for the public are in original paintings, giclee (canvas) prints, framed prints, matted prints, note cards, Christmas cards, jewelry, and limited edition bronze sculpture and pewter sculpture.
Kenneth Wyatt is best know for his Western art and Christian art. You will see his paintings and prints of cowboys, horses and cattle depicting the lonesome life of the American cowboy.
HI!!!!
ReplyDeleteHe seems to be a medium to art and other areas of peoples lives. He does not exert too much pressure on to one thing, but finds things that are in his likings.

ReplyDeleteWhere is that?
ReplyDeleteDo you have groupies?
ReplyDeletethis is for Mirajade, not to sound like a total jerk, but how do you already know so much about Mr. Wyatt? I feel kind of dumb compared to you on this subject :(
ReplyDeleteAt the age of 14, Kenneth was first called to ministry, licensed as a local pastor, then appointed to a local church in central Texas … all within the span of two weeks. Dr. Wyatt is a man dedicated to his calling, evidenced by the tremendous number of hours he spends at the easel. With renewed inspiration from God, family, friends, owners and the awesome examples of great artists in years past, as well as some really fantastic artists of today.
ReplyDeleteQuestion:...Uhh I will come back to this later..
Hiiiiiiiiii, I'm Lane. :D
